Apostles church has been an amazing blessing to us. I am constantly encouraged, challenged and inspired by the words of our community and the life of Christ.
May you spend time in prayer this week focusing on the example Christ gave us, on the love he showed to all people.
I was struck by this prayer from the Common Book of Prayer:
"Oh God, who created all peoples in your image, we thank you for the wonderful diversity of races and cultures in this world. Enrich our lives by ever-widening circles of fellowship, and show us your presence in those who differ most from us, until our knowledge of your love is made perfect in our love for all your children through Jesus Christ our Lord."

That's great! We have been thinking about how much emphasis we put on Christmas and all the corresponding activities as compared to Easter.
Last year we did a passover meal on Good Friday (at midnight) with "wine" and unleavened bread and a script for us all to read from. We are goign to do it again this year. We also are doing lent but only this week (thought 40 days would be too hard for the kids to wrap their minds around).
Easter should be celebrated just as much - if not more - than Christmas and we are trying to find traditions that help us do that and assist our kids on focusing on Jesus. Thanks for the reminder and encouragement.
Bummed we couldn't have joined you for that lunch! Looked great!
This was a great post- what a beautiful prayer, too, and so relevant to this awesome City we call home!!!
The "Holy Week" focus is pretty new to me, too. I thank God for our church every day- how blessed we are!!! :)
